Mishka Project Batch 1

MISHKA PROJECT,

According to data from UNHCR Indonesia (United Nations Agency for Refugees), the number of refugees in Indonesia as of June 2021 is estimated to reach 13,416. There are 58 percent of the refugees in Indonesia who come from Afghanistan.

Some of them are women refugees hoping to have a chance to continue their lives. Times of uncertainty and living in a country and not being able to work professionally, making some of them confess desperate, even trying to live without the burden of thinking about the future alone, have been quite difficult for them.

Makaila Haifa, along with the WeGotYourBack_ID community, is always committed to helping other women or empowering women, especially in society and humanity. That's why it inspired Makaila Haifa to create this social project and collaborate with UNHCR Indonesia.

Makaila Haifa, WeGotYourBack_ID, is pleased to work with these extraordinary refugee women. We call it the "Mishka Project." The meaning of the name 'Mishka' is 'Gift of Love'. Makaila Haifa wants to share a 'Gift of Love' with all women in the world.

Mishka Project gives women refugees the opportunity to participate in this project, starting from November 2021 until January 2022, including auditions, workshops, and photoshoots for Mishka's Project Campaign.

This workshop. Women refugees have the opportunity to be models and talents for Mishka's Project Campaign. Their communities also get a share of the profits received from the sale of the special collection collaboration, the Mishka Project. The Mishka Project is fully funded by Makaila Haifa, without any donation or sponsorship.

Being a woman's refugee in a people's country is not easy for them. Being separated from families, language, social, and cultural constraints familiar with their daily lives. Refugees usually have to wait a long time to get asylum from a third country. At least with the Mishka Project, this can help relieve their burden, and they have the hope of staying alive.
